| SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT Meko Oh  Our next Supporter Spotlight falls upon Meko Oh, who tells us about charming drunks, delicious noodles and having vaseline on the bedside table! Oo-er...Tell us about your background for those supporters that don’t know you. I grew up in a village in Yuen Long which is an hour away from HK Island. I am a village girl at heart but now living in the metropolis! I studied at HKU and lived in Holland for a year as part of my degree course. What do you do for a living? I work in an Investment Financial Planning company called as a Customer Service Manager. Best part of your job? The people at work! Significant others? How did you meet? My husband Dave. We met at a club called C-top 8 years ago on his very 1st night in Hong Kong. It was drunk at first sight and he tried his charms on me! Obviously I fell for them and now we’re happily married. Favourite HK restaurant? Why? Well I have too many but if I had to choose then a little place that sells the most delicious local noodles in Yuen Long called "Wing Lin". It really gets my taste buds going crazy every time I go home to visit. Favourite HK bar/club? Why? I don’t have a favourite club but go anywhere that plays hip-hop/RnB music and you’ll see me dancing! Fave bar would be RED Bar which has cool music, good views and you can chat with your friends. Favourite place in HK? Why? My home where I can find peace and quiet! Worst place in Hong Kong? Why? Mong Kok because its crowded, noisy and too crazy! Ideal holiday? Travelling around the world to exotic places with my loved one! Got any nicknames? None really but Dave calls me "BB"! Hobbies? Travelling, water sports, watching movies and reading! Liverpool FC How did you find out about OLSC? From ex-colleague Roger Clarke back in the early days at Dublin Jack. How long have you been supporting Liverpool? Since 1998 when Dave introduced me to the team! The fans are the best in the world! How will Liverpool’s season finish? As usual we will make it into the top 4, but not close enough to challenge for the title.We might make it to the Champions League Final this year. Fingers x. What was the first live game you attended? When Liverpool FC came to Hong Kong in 2000 to play in the HK Stadium. Fondest football memory? When Liverpool won the Champions League in 2005. That was an amazing night! Favourite current Liverpool player? Steven Gerrard Favourite past Liverpool player? Michael Owen The Important Stuff What’s the last CD you bought? I bought a pirated jazz CD from China called Dupree. What’s your favourite TV show? There are too many to mention but at the moment I am watching Lost, American Idol, Prison Break and lots of cooking shows. What’s your favourite food? Chinese, Japanese and Italian. Who would you least like to be stuck in an elevator with? My Boss! What’s on your bedside table? Vaseline, books that I am reading and lots of cuddly toys. Do you have any superstitions? None. What’s the most extravagant thing you’ve ever bought? My wedding dress which I still own and one day shall pass onto my daughter. Your husband or Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) from Prison Break? Of course my husband...there’s no competition! Natural tan, fake tan or sunbed? Natural of course...no fake stuff please! Yoga or pilates? Neither as I do hip hop dancing! What time do you wake up? 7.30am during week days and whatever time I get up naturally during the weekend. Sleep is precious to me. What do you do in the mornings before work? I listen to the radio on the way to work to a funny chat show about current affairs. Sometimes I laugh out loud and get strange looks from passengers! What three things could you not live without? My loved one, music and friends. Three words that other people would most likely use to describe you. Talkative, caring and fun. |
